Grundy, I have changed my thinking about getting in all the chips with pocket Aces. I would love to know that I had the nuts before committing all my chips. I know how to tell, so perhaps I should have just checked it down after the flop raise was called. But knowing that this player bets air pre-flop, I would probably have called any of his raises as well.

These discussions make me think as well. Both your comments and Grundy's have caused me to re-evaluate my playing of this hand. I have subscribed to your blog. Nice design.

In regards to wanting your opponent to stay in to get as many chips as possible, if I bet, I want my opponent to fold...unless of course I have the nuts. Any mere pair, even aces, I try to get everyone out of the hand if possible.

I really don't like getting drawn out.
